These terms cover the Sill app, this website, and the related online services (accounts, updates, feedback, and donations). By using them you agree to these terms.
Using Sill
You may install and use Sill on your own Macs. Use it lawfully, and don't try to disrupt, overload, or get around the website, account, licensing, or update systems.
What Sill changes on your Mac
While it runs, Sill sets the Dock to hide itself and restores your Dock settings when it quits, including after a crash. If they aren't restored (for example, Sill was deleted while running), the uninstall steps show how to bring the Dock back. Sill also works with other apps' windows through the Accessibility permission you grant it.
Accounts and add-ons
Sill works without an account. Add-ons, when available, will need one, and access is tied to your account rather than a serial key. Access may be suspended or revoked for fraud, abuse, chargebacks, or breaking these terms. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for activity on your account.
Donations
Donations are voluntary contributions toward developing Sill. They don't buy anything, don't unlock features, and don't create any obligation to provide features, support, or updates. They're processed by Stripe and are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund or a payment was made in error (use the feedback form). Donations aren't tax-deductible.
Updates
Sill checks for updates and asks before installing them. Updates are signed and checked before they install. Features may change or be removed between versions.
Early software
Sill is under active development and may have bugs, missing features, or compatibility problems. Don't rely on it for critical work without your own backups.
Ownership
Sill, its name and icon, the website, and add-ons are owned by Sill's developer. These terms give you permission to use them, not ownership. Names of other companies and products mentioned on this site belong to their owners.
No warranty
Sill and its services are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. There's no promise that they'll be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for your Mac or your work.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Sill's developer isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, from using or being unable to use Sill. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Sill in the 12 months before the claim (which, for the free app, is zero), or US$50, whichever is greater. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use Sill after a change means you accept it.
